2011 Ryukyu Karate Summer Camps

 

 

Introductory Karate

More than Kicks, Punches, & Blocks! Boys and girls will learn basic karate warm-up and techniques including kicks, punches, and blocks. They will also learn "stranger danger" safety techniques and escape methods. This camp will have your kids excited to learn and could be the most important camp they ever attend. Attire: A karate gui purchased from Ryukyu must be worn during camp. Full week campers will receive 50% off the purchase of a gui. All students will do a performance for their parents on the last day and kids who are new to our program will also participate in a white belt graduation. $129 for the week or $30 per day.

 

            Jul 5th - 8th                          9:00-12:00

            Aug 22nd - 26th                    1:00-4:00

 

Intermediate Karate 

This camp is for karate students yellow through blue belt. Students will learn and review basic karate etiquette, specifics of Katas 1, 2, & 3, obstacle courses, and other fun karate related activities. $129 for the week or $30 per day.

  

  

Advanced Karate 

This camp is for karate students purple through brown belt. Students will learn and review Katas 4, 5, and Naihanchi 1, 2, & 3, and other fun karate related activities. $129 for the week or $30 per day.

 

           July 25th - 29th                     9:00-12:00

 

Sparring Camp

This camp will focus on correct kicking and punching techniques for sparring. Ring etiquette, proper ring control, techniques to score points, and winning tournament techniques will also be covered. $129 for the week or $30 per day.

 

          Aug 15th - 19th    9:00-12:00 

 

 

Weapons Camp

Students will learn a full weapon Katas. Weapons offered are Bow & Advanced Bow, Nunchuku & Advanced Nunchuku, Sai, and Sword. (Weapon can be ordered at the front desk.) $129 for the week or $30 per day.

 

         Aug 15th - 19th    1:00-4:00 

 

 

Safety Camp

This camp is open to ALL kids 5-10 years of age and is based on a Girl/Boy Scout Patch program and has been taught to 1,000s of children. Kids will learn about  stranger danger, get away techniques, and fire safety; just to name a few concepts! No karate experience is necessary. $129 for the week or $30 per day.
