Are the instructors certified?

Instructors for youth classes are trained as children's fitness professionals through American Fitness Professionals and Associates. AFPA is internationally recognized, accredited, and has nearly 59,000 fitness professionals. Training involves a multidisciplinary approach to teaching health-related fitness at the elementary and middle school level; as well as fitness for all levels of team sports. All instructors are first aid and CPR certified.

 

Is weight lifting safe for young children?

No, but resistance training is safe and beneficial for your child. Early and consistent resistance training can improve back and neck health; as well as protection for internal organs. Our goal is to strengthen your child's muscles not "bulk" them up. Our resistance training will not involve machines or weight lifting and will always be age appropriate. Our fitness classes are full of activities that are designed to match your child's physical and cognitive abilities. We develop our lesson plans with activities that motivate your child to get moving and keep moving so they can being a lifestyle that provides tremendous health advantages. Resistance training helps improve overall health for people of all ages.

 

Why should my child take a fitness class?

Studies have shown that children should engage in 30 to 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day. Active children will most likely become active adults.
