THE EDGE

 

All of our classes at The Edge are based on accepted principles of fitness for kids. Classes are constructed to teach your child strength, cardiovascular, and agility exercises to enhance their personal fitness. They will learn that fitness can be challenging and rewarding, but most importantly FUN! They will use all types of resistance equipment in activities that are age appropriate and highly supervised. Give your child the introduction to fitness that can give them The Edge to a healthy lifestyle.

 

Youth Classes

 

Square One (1st - 3rd grade)

This fitness class is specially designed to encourage your child to embrace his/her natural curiosity and harness that seemingly endless energy. Kids at this age are just learning to control their bodies and need a solid foundation in muscle control for all of their activities. We will play our way through cardio and strength building exercises. They will be training their muscles for future fitness with age appropriate activities and will be having a blast doing it! Boys and girls classes are offered separately. Help your child get The Edge early.

Energize (3rd - 5th grade)

This fitness class focuses on increasing your child’s balance, strength and agility. Children of this age are starting to put their muscles to work for them in team and individual sports. We will work on hand eye coordination, strength and dexterity to help your child be more effective in all of his/her activities. Give your child The Edge with this fitness class especially designed for their increasingly active life. Boys and girls classes are offered separately.

Powerhouse (6th - 8th grade)

In this class we will work on expanding strength and agility. Boys and girls each have their own classes to maximize gender appropriate exercises. Many middle schoolers are involved in team or individual sports and can use the performance enhancement that resistance training can provide. All kids of this age can benefit from learning the value of fitness habits that they can use for the rest of their lives. We will use appropriate weights, fitness bands, and other resistance tools to help your child build strength and direct their muscles for their individual achievement. There is no better time to give your child The Edge on their performance and a lifestyle of fitness.

Commanding Cardio (4th - 8th grade)

This class is a great opportunity for your child to get their sweat on! They will be moving from the time they arrive to the time they leave. Kids will burn the extra energy they have through active and challenging games and exercises aimed at fun cardio fitness. Sweating has never been this much fun!

Supreme Strength (4th - 8th grade)

Strength training can be a safe and fun activity for all age groups. This class will engage your child in age appropriate challenges to use their muscles effectively and gain strength. We will be focusing on body weight challenges and strength goal setting with en emphasis on FUN! All of our activities are closely supervised for safe body positions to learn the basics of strength training for life! Give your child the cutting Edge!

Thursday 5:15-6:00

 

 

Rock Solid (3rd - 5th grade)

This class is a rock wall extravaganza! We will spend most of our time climbing the walls - literally! There will be challenges and activities within the climbing instruction that your child will experience. Climbing will be a fun way to work on upper and lower body strength. Boys and girls alike will have fun with this lighthearted take on fitness. This class is a summer offering only so don’t miss out!
